Description
It’s a moment between tension and calm—when the bell hasn’t yet rung, but the body already remembers every fight. Patryk Kaczmarczyk, one of the most compelling representatives of the younger generation of fighters, was captured during an exercise that, for many, is a routine part of training, but for him, a ritual. I feel there’s more to this pose than movement: there’s thought, there’s breathing, there’s concentration.
I decided to portray the figure in black and white to sharpen the contrast between his inner discipline and the chaos of the colorful background, which symbolizes the outside world—the cage, the pressure, the expectations. The reds, oranges, and greens pulsate with emotions that can’t be turned off. He—like a warrior of a new era—smiles inwardly, as if saying, “I’m ready.”
