Each painting is handmade with meticulous attention to detail. I do not accept returns due to change of mind, but if the piece arrives damaged, please contact me within 7 days of receiving the shipment – we will work together to find a solution.
Care and Storage
The painting is made on high-quality paper and acrylic paints – do not fold, roll, or store in a humid environment.
Avoid direct sunlight – UV rays can cause colors to fade over time.
Avoid contact with water and chemicals.
Neighborhood Monitoring is a nostalgic and slightly surreal interpretation of everyday life in Poland during the PRL era.
The figure, disappearing through the window, becomes a playful metaphor for the ever-present feeling of being observed — whether by neighbours, the proverbial “eyes” of the housing estate, or simply by the people living behind the windows of the same block.
The repetitive red circles covering the space create an almost hypnotic environment, referencing the characteristic visual language of vintage interiors and graphic design, while the strong contrast between the deep red, cream and monochromatic figure gives the work a distinctive, theatrical character.
There is a touch of Polish humour and absurdity in the scene: someone is clearly trying to disappear, but on a Polish housing estate, there is always someone watching.
A contemporary work inspired by PRL nostalgia, Polish neighbourhood culture and the absurdity of everyday life.
