Description
Dominika Steczkowska – a fighter who not only fights but embodies the fight within herself. This painting arose from the need to capture her moment of focus and inner strength, which doesn’t need words to be noticed.
I chose to depict her in black and white because it is in this contrast that I see her character: strong, clear, with no room for half-measures. I painted her in a ready pose – just before striking, just before making a decision. I did this consciously, because for me, it is in such moments that a warrior’s true nature is revealed.
The background is intense and powerful – reds, raspberries, pinks, and metallic golds envelop the octagon like the emotions raging during a fight. This isn’t just an arena – it’s a scene of strength, courage, and determination. The colors are deliberately unrealistic, because I wasn’t aiming for a documentary, but rather for the energy Dominika brings to the cage.
For me, this painting is not just a portrait. It’s a story about a woman who isn’t afraid of challenges, who strikes with grace and fights with passion. I wanted to show that femininity and brutality are not opposites – they coexist harmoniously within her.
